Library Public Services Student Assistant

Description
Answer basic informational, directional and library policy questions.

Contact with users may be in person, via phone or chat software.

Help users utilize electronic and print resources.

Perform basic circulation activities (check-in, check out, renewals) using library software.

Instruct users working with the following equipment: microform reader/printers, scanners, copiers, laminator, printers, fax machine, CatCa$h machine.

Responsible for security and care of library materials and equipment.

Shelve library materials accurately and neatly.

Assist with maintenance of all library collections, including shelf reading, straightening, shifting, cleaning.

Conduct library tours, using the script provided.

Maintain statistics and prepare reports.

Assist with user experience activities such as surveys, focus groups, interviews, data entry, and statistical analysis.

Assist with the opening and closing of the Olson Library.

May require night and/or weekend hours.

Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.




Work Schedule:
Winter hours: Monday-Fri 7:30am-11pm
*During fall & winter semesters, a minimum of 6 hours per week is required.
*Currently hiring for morning & weekend shifts

Summer hours: Monday-Friday: 7:30am-6pm. Weeks between semesters: Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm

Currently hiring for the Winter Semester

Wage/Salary: Minimum wage

8. Ability to lift heavy books, move carts and have tolerance for exposure to dust
9. Must possess a valid driver's license
